There are moments in life when the world quietly asks us to stop.

That’s what drew me to this scene in Clarksville.

The fields, fences, and distant homes remain small and grounded beneath an endlessly billowing sky. The clouds rise and shift with such presence that, for a moment, everything else fades into stillness. Not empty stillness—but the kind that comes from simply standing still long enough to truly take something in.

I think we need more moments like that.

Moments where we stop measuring, planning, scrolling, rushing… and simply look upward in quiet awe.

This painting holds that feeling for me:
the experience of feeling both small and deeply connected at the same time.
