Riding the Silence

Riding the Silence
Original watercolor
12” x 16”
There’s a rare kind of stillness that only comes when you’re alone with the sea. In this painting, I wanted to capture that suspended moment—where wind, wing, and wave move together as one.
This gull isn’t fighting the wind. He’s surrendered to it—riding the invisible currents with grace and ease. There’s a freedom in that posture, a wisdom in letting go.
This piece is for anyone who needs a visual reminder:
🌬️ You don’t always have to push.
🌊 Stillness can carry you farther than struggle.
🕊️ You are supported, even when you can’t see what’s holding you up.
Hang this where you need to breathe deeply—by your workspace, reading chair, or meditation corner—and let it whisper peace into your day.
This painting is part of a current exhibition at Lowell Arts Gallery and can be purchased directly through them.
This painting has not been mounted on a birch panel and will have to be under glass for protection. I’m open to mounting and waxing it for you if you choose.
